It’s all about (re)imagining our world
from a child’s & tree’s perspective …
A child sees a tree and says in exaltation: ‘This is the tree I was since long looking for to climb and hide!”. The tree looks back at the child and lowers nicely his branches. Little cracks warn the child to not break the branches and not climb too high. ”But… oh gosh, what a view from up here!”
Can you imagine having this interaction with a tree, like this child? Maybe you even had, once upon a time, when you were a child too? Or you still do?
Mtoto-Mti is all about this: how would our today world be like if children and trees were in charge instead of adults? It’s a thought experiment, an art and writing entreprise, a social and community project, an atelier for educative workshops, …
So, like you see…
Mtoto-Mti is nothing short of a dream: a juster and greener future for all children – and hence for everyone!!
The words ‘mtoto’ and ‘mti’ mean ‘child’ and ’tree’ in Kiswahili, one of the most widespread languages of Africa.
Global issues like climate change and social justice are two sides of the same coin. That’s why Mtoto-Mti believes in combining these two perspectives in order to make actions stronger and more efficient and lasting.
